Instructors
Our core group meet from time to time and discuss the direction of Salsa de Locos. Here's a photo of such an occasion. Thank god that pink wall's been painted since!

John and Imma have been teaching salsa for three years. They spent some weeks in Cuba in June 2005, learning some funky moves from local dance teachers in Havana, Trinedad and Varadero. As well as teaching and running salsa, John is an IT consultant while Imma is an embryologist. They have a baby girl called Hannah who settles down when she hears salsa...

Nik has been teaching in Hobart since 2003 and dancing salsa since 2000. He went to Cuba in 1999 and 2006 and just loves the Cuban style. He took some classes with Chris Drogo and Kristina Diaz in Melbourne in 2003, but now he just makes up his own moves. When not dancing salsa, Nik is a Emergency doctor at Calvary Hospital and owns aheritage fruit tree business. |
Luna has been part of Hobart's salsa scene since it started. She's danced in Cuba and many other places she's travelled to and has been teaching on and off for years. When not dancing Salsa, Luna works with kids and youth at risk and is passionate about the wilderness therapy program she's developing. |
Pip and Nick began dancing salsa in 2004 and started
teaching in 2006. When not dancing Nick works at
Scenport as an Estimator, whilst Pip works at the
Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery as the Registrar.
They both wish to continue travelling widely which
will one day include Latin America. |
Nenagh has been dancing since 2004 and teaching since 2006. She has tried out salsa classes and social dancing in the UK, US, and Canada, and since moving home to Tasmania she has enjoyed being part of Hobart’s friendly salsa scene. By day, Nenagh is a lecturer in Psychology at the Uni. |
Michael has been dancing salsa since 2005 and began teaching in 2006. He would love to experience salsa in Cuba, and beyond, in the not too distant future. When not dancing he can sometimes be found wandering the corridors of the RHH where he works as a nurse. |
Brad has been dancing since 2006 and joined the teaching team in 2010. |
